Refund policy

In accordance with the ECT (Electronic Communication & Transactions) Act and Consumer Protection Act 

If you're not 100% satisfied with your order, you are welcome to return it within 7 days of delivery provided it's still in its original packaging, unworn and unused with protective wrappings still in place.

All products are to be respected, should you wish to return it, that they are in a condition to be resold. DO NOT REMOVE PROTECTIVE COVERINGS until you're happy with the sizing. Should there be an issue with sizing or you simply did not like the item, make contact with us immediately. 

CANCELLATIONS/RETURNS/EXCHANGES:

Typical response time is within 6 business hours.

Watchboyz facilitates the return bookings of unwanted items. A Courier/Admin fee of R149 may apply to returns, unless we made a mistake, we'll gladly cover all costs!

Should a customer wish to cancel/return or exchange an order once delivery has already taken place,  Watchboyz will credit the item subject to the following conditions: 

  • Original proof of purchase (order number, invoice or delivery note) is presented.
  • The item being returned must include the original packaging and be packaged in such a manner as to not be damaged in transit, when returned. Watchboyz reserves the right to reject damaged items and packaging.
  • The item has not been damaged, altered, assembled, or tampered with in any way and all protective plastic wrapping should be intact for the item to be resold as new.
  • The item is not missing parts or components or accessories.
  • The cancellation/return request is received by Watchboyz within 7 days from receipt of goods.
  • The original shipping cost will not be refunded. This applies even in cases where Watchboyz offers free delivery to the customer on the sale of the items as this shipping cost is factored into the selling price of the goods.
  • A handling / restocking fee of no less than 10% may apply on damaged packaging etc. This covers admin fees, labor in preparing the order, etc 
  • All exchanges/refunds will only be processed once the return items have been received back at our facilities.
  • Refunds and cancelation of pre-order items requested before the order was fulfilled may be subject to a 10% cancellation fee if Watchboyz requested a product be manufactured for you at factory level due to them not having reserves. This is due to costs incurred on your behalf on an order we can no longer cancel with the factory and thus have to take your order into our inventory. 
  • Should we be unable to fulfil a pre-order due to unforeseen circumstances a full refund will be issued in respect of the order amount.
  • Cancellations of pre-orders are charged at a flat 10% fee due to refunding of merchant fees and stocking of items to which you requested to be manufactured.

Purchase contracts on watches (wearables) are non refundable after 7 days once delivery has taken place.

Warranties remain valid for the entire duration of the purchase. 

REFUNDS:

  • Refunds may take 7 to 14 (fourteen) business days from date of receipt of returned goods, subject to the return meeting the criteria for a refund. Where Watchboyz has determined deductions or surcharges to be deducted from the refund, such amounts shall be communicated to the customer and only after agreement on the final refund amount has been reached will refunds be processed for payment.
  • Any approved exchange, credit or refund of a particular product shall apply to that product only and not any other products purchased from us at the same or at another time, regardless of whether the other items were purchased to match or compliment this product. 
  • Any refund paid to your credit card, depending on your bank, can take up to seven (7) working days to reflect in your bank account.

WatchBoyz reserves the right to refuse returns in situations where items have been used or packaging damaged to such a degree that the items can not be restocked and resold as new.


WARRANTY INFORMATION


WARRANTIES ON THE PRODUCTS WE STOCK ARE ONLY VALID ON PURCHASES MADE FROM WATCHBOYZ. Please be vigilant when choosing a supplier. Having a valid warranty will save you the misfortune of having no recourse, should your product ever become defective. As the old saying goes: "If it looks too good to be true, it probably is."

All watches come with a warranty (period specified on product page) against manufacturers defects only. Manufacturers defects refers to incorrectly attached parts, improper materials etc. It does not cover misuse, damage or wear and tear from use. Should a warranty repair or replacement be requested, and damage is not reported to its full extent before we receive/collect a watch, the warranty will be void. ie, do not report a faulty movement when the watch was dropped and the movement shattered.

Batteries and straps are not covered by warranties. Should you invoke the warranty, Watchboyz will schedule an insured collection at which point the product will be returned to us and inspected by our technician. Courier fees for the collection and return of the product are not covered under warranty.

Warranty repairs can take up to 3 weeks dependant on which parts are required.

Due to the number of parallel imports in circulation, warranties are not transferable between owners.

Only the original purchaser with matching warranty card and order number will have claim to their warranty.


REGARDING BATTERIES:

Watches are battery-operated devices and thus require battery replacements from time to time. Our watches may have been in storage for quite some time before joining a new collection and there is thus no way of us knowing what the power condition of each and every battery in our storage facility is, not the condition of the battery at the time that it gets shipped as we do not remove protective wrappings or break seals before the item is shipped. If for any reason a watch stops ticking, within any given time period, after you have received it, please have the battery replaced first to ensure you have fresh batteries. They are inexpensive and available at many kiosks in malls and watch repair stores. Batteries die eventually. It's simply the nature of batteries. Batteries are therefore not covered by warranty as it is impractical to send watches back and forth via couriers simply to have batteries replaced.

All orders placed on our website agree and are subject to these terms. Our policies excist to protect ourselves and our customers and are non-negotiable.

REGARDING WATER RESISTANCE:

There is no such thing as a WATERPROOF watch. Watches are only water resistant and the METER rating on a watch technically means nothing and they are convoluted.

IF YOUR WATCH HAS A SCREW-DOWN CROWN, MAKE SURE IT’S ALWAYS TIGHTLY SEALED

Various watches contain BAR/Depth ratings.

It is best practice to NEVER TAKE ANY WATCH INTO HOT WATER / BATHS / SHOWERS.
The sudden change in temperature and pressure will cause seals and parts to expand/contract and lubricants to run and dial glues to melt.


Consider the following international standards:

  • 3BAR / 3ATM / 30M / 100FT - A 3BAR rating should not be exposed to water at all, but will withstand light rain for a short duration of time or slight splash drops when washing hands.


  • 5BAR / 5ATM / 50M / 165FT - The watch can withstand light splashes when washing hands, rain drizzle etc. This watch is still not recommended for swimming and water exposure should still be avoided.


  • 10BAR / 10ATM / 100M / 330FT - The watch is suitable for leisure swimming. No water sports or poolside diving/sea diving. Even diving into a pool or surfing a wave can penetrate a 10BAR rating with enough force.


  • 20BAR / 20ATM / 200M / 660FT - The watch is suitable for swimming, high-impact water sports and scuba diving.


  • More than 30BAR / 30ATM / 300M / 990FT - Suitable for high-impact water sports, scuba diving and saturation diving.


WATCHBOYZ WILL NOT HONOUR WARRANTY AGREEMENTS THAT DID NOT
ADHERE TO THESE GUIDELINES or ANY CLAIMS AGAINST A WATCH EXPOSED TO HOT WATER.

 Adhere to the guidelines and your watch will serve you well for many years to come.
